FAQs
  1. Who are you?
  2. We are Doki Fansubs. We… fansub.

  3. How long have you been around?
  4. I started Doki Fansubs in October 2009.

  5. When is episode x of [insert anime] going to be released?
  6. When I get around to releasing it. Constantly asking won’t speed up the process.

  7. If [insert anime] gets licensed, will you drop it?
  8. No.

  9. YOU ARE X HOURS LATE ON [INSERT ANIME], DID YOU DROP IT?
  10. No.

  11. How can I donate to Doki?
  12. Here.

  13. Where is my XviD?
  14. Probably in the queue to be encoded.

  15. Will you make XviDs for all shows?
  16. Usually, XviDs will be done for TV shows. For Blu Rays, it is up to the encoder.

  17. Will you do DVDs/Blu Rays for your shows?
  18. Depends on the encoder.

  19. Will you release 720p or 1080p for Blu Rays?
  20. If the 1080p is a terrible upscale, then 720p only. If 1080p looks good, then we will also release that.

  21. FLAC is too big! Use something smaller!
  22. Lossless > Lossy. Releases with FLAC audio are most likely ones which are for archiving. Lossless audio can be re-encoded to lossy codecs with no loss of quality. Buy a new hard drive or something, they’re dirt cheap anyway.

  23. How can I join Doki Fansubs?
  24. Either e-mail me at misteranonimous@gmail.com, or show up on #doki-recruits@irc.rizon.net. You will need to tell me what you want to do, and any past experience you may have (if any).

  25. Will you sub [insert anime series]?
  26. If I like it and have time. Most of the time, the answer will probably be no.

  27. [insert fansub group] are also subbing [insert anime series]! Why are you doing it?
  28. Because we want to. Go with the other group if you don’t like our subs.

  29. There is a season 2 of [insert anime series that we did]. Will you sub it?
  30. Most likely.

  31. Will you release a batch torrent for [INSERT ANIME]
  32. Yes. I always release batches. There are no exceptions.

  33. Is the TV version 720p of [INSERT ANIME] an upscale?
  34. All 720p TV releases are station upscales. Anime does not get broadcast native 720p or high in Japan (not that I know of).
If I think the 720p quality is good, then I will release 720p. If the 720p is truly eye cancerous, then there will only be 480p.
